If we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to. This is the last stand on Earth. And this idea that government is beholden to the people, that it has no other source of power except to sovereign people, is still the newest and most unique idea in all the long history of man's relation to man. This is the issue of this election. Whether we believe in our capacity for self-government or whether we abandon the American revolution and confess that a little intellectual elite in a far-distant capital can plan our lives for us better than we can plan them ourselves.
After earning her Master of Arts in Political Communication from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Julie moved back home to Rockford, IL. She volunteered for Congressman Don Manzullo’s campaign and learned the fine art of politics, including phone calling and door knocking. Post-election, the campaign manager resigned and Don asked Julie to join his team.
She stayed with the Congressman Manzullo for seven election cycles, eventually moving from the campaign side to work in his official District Office as his Deputy Director of Communications.
After Congressman Manzullo’s loss in 2012, Julie moved into health care marketing, where she worked as a senior marketing specialist and webmaster at a health system for eight years. Her love of current events ultimately lured her back to the political field. She joined The Prosper Group in October 2021, taking on the role of Client Success Manager.
Julie enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, watching cooking shows and traveling. She’s visited 46 states, Mexico, Canada, and several countries in Europe. Her favorite vacation spot is Jackson Hole, Wyoming, from where she loves to visit Grand Teton National Park and snowmobile in Yellowstone. Still on the bucket list: Banff National Park, Glacier National Park, and Ireland.
