The Prosper Group Delivers Biggest GOP Wins of 2020
Republicans in the biggest and toughest races counted on The Prosper Group in 2020
The Prosper Group was at the forefront of many critical GOP wins in 2020. We could not be prouder of the impact we made.
These victories include a number of the most important GOP pickups of 2020, including the only Republican U.S. Senate pickup of this cycle in Alabama and unseating a 30-year incumbent and powerful Democrat Committee Chair in Minnesota's Seventh District.
With the majority for grabs in the U.S. Senate, The Prosper Group’s independent expenditure (IE) work helped propel Senator Kelly Loeffler into a head-to-head runoff election set for January 5th.
The digital impact of The Prosper Group’s work was far-reaching. Through direct campaign work and working with PACs and IE efforts, we helped more than double the number of women in the U.S. House. The 118th Congress will have the largest class of Republican women in our nation’s history.
The Prosper Group also helped win key state legislative races in 15 states. In some of these states, these victories will make a direct impact on redistricting. We ultimately helped Republicans win legislative supermajorities in Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee.
Highlights from 2020
-
GOP Pickup: Tommy Tuberville, who defeated incumbent Democrat Doug Jones, will be sworn in on January 3rd as the new U.S. Senator from the state of Alabama. He won three hard-fought elections in 2020 to secure the Republican Party’s only U.S. Senate pickup.
-
GOP Hold: Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (NY-21) fought off a well-funded opponent and the Pelosi campaign machine to win re-election. She was heavily targeted after gaining national attention last November for her very public dismantling of the Democrats’ impeachment charges against President Trump during hearing of the House Intelligence Committee.
-
GOP Women: While some U.S. House election results are still being determined, as of this writing we know that fundraising efforts conducted through Congresswoman Stefanik's leadership PAC helped elect 12 new GOP women to the House (with more likely to come).
-
GOP Pickup: Former state lawmaker and first-time congressional candidate Michelle Fischbach (MN-07) defeated 30-year incumbent Democrat and powerful House Agriculture Committee Chair Collin Peterson.
-
GOP Hold: Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb was re-elected by a nearly 25-point margin, and the Indiana Republican Party swept all statewide offices and picked up additional seats in the state’s General Assembly.
-
Runoff: U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler is headed to a January 5th head-to-head runoff election in Georgia, with the majority control of the Senate now hanging in the balance.
-
GOP Hold: Congressman John Katko (NY-24) prevailed in a tough “rematch” campaign against a well-funded Democrat opponent, in a district Hillary Clinton won in the 2016 presidential race.
-
IE Wins: Independent expenditure efforts The Prosper Group was involved in also helped elect Republicans in CA-50, OK-5, and TX-23 – all top 2020 battleground districts.
2020 was not an easy election year. But at the end of the day, 73% of The Prosper Group’s clients on the ballot won their races. The 117th Congress will include at least 26 of our clients, and we helped elect more than 60 state legislators across 15 states.
We could not be prouder of our work in 2020... and we cannot thank our valued clients enough for partnering with The Prosper Group!
