Governor Bob McDonnell and Senator Scott Brown have embraced the high-tech, highly efficient voter contact technology powered by The Prosper Group. The Republican Party of Virginia coordinated an ambitious voter contact strategy using volunteer phone banks, starting in the summer of 2009. Looking to increase efficiency over cell phones and other outdated VOIP technology, the RPV opted to place 8 of our Victory VOIP phone bank units in various locations throughout the state. For the final week of the campaign, the RPV installed an additional 8 units in hotel locations. These "hubs" brought an additional 500 phones to bear for the GOTV effort. One hotel location was able to generate over 22,000 phone calls in just a few hours. Victory VOIP set records in total number of calls, making 250,000 on the day before Election Day. Even more amazing we're the numbers per volunteer. For the 4-question voter ID script our volunteers were making an average of 75 calls per volunteer per hour! When making calls for GOTV using a shorter script our volunteers averaged 93 calls per volunteer per hour. The campaign of Senator Scott Brown had an entirely different challenge. Due to the demands of the Special Election calendar, Senator Brown needed to add additional phones into Massachusetts for the final two weeks. Within days, The Prosper Group was able to set up phones at new Brown field offices. In addition, the campaign was able to utilize the hotel strategy originally pioneered by Governor McDonnell. This brought 220 more volunteers into play in the vital last 5 days of the campaign. The innovative phone technology marketed by The Prosper Group and our creative new application of it broke new ground for Republican candidates in 2009 and early 2010.
